Somehow we have overcomplicated the simplest and most intrinsic thing about the human experience - being a soul in a physical body. Spirituality has become a buzzword or a trend these days on social media, but what really is it? How is it different than religion? Where do you get started? And how can YOU be more connected to yourself & the divine even living in this busy world? Allow me to do what I do best with my clients and simplify everything! In this blog I am going to share some quick 60 second or less mindfulness practices to help you be a bit more intentional & sprinkle some magic into your every day life!
But first what is spirituality? According to good ole Google the definition of spirituality is "the quality of being concerned with the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things." Sounds easy enough right?! So why do so many of us imagine a Buddhist monk meditating for hours a day, a yogi in a complicated pose, or needing chakra crystals, a singing bowl, incense, and a ritual oils to be "spiritual". Of course, it could look like that and I love a pretty amethyst and smelling like lavender, but truthfully spirituality is just you connecting with YOU.
"But what about the Universe? God? Source? I thought it was a deeper connection with them?" is probably what you are thinking and spirituality also can be! But remember, you are a fractal of the Universe, the divine in human form, God in the flesh so connecting with yourself through journaling, meditation, or even movement is also connecting with a higher power. The same is true for connecting with others and nature because we all have spirit inside of. Truthfully, the most spiritual experiences I've ever had is simply sitting under my cedar tree I named Selah in silence for a few minutes & asking for her guidance (which btw I linked that guided meditation video below for you to try it too!)
"But what if I don't believe in a higher power?" and my answer is that is okay too! You can be an atheist and spiritual. You can be religious and spiritual. You can also be religious and not spiritual but that's a blog for another day. Again, spirituality is just you creating the time and space to discover your truth whatever that may be. There is no right or wrong belief system or practice when it comes to this. That is probably why "spirituality" is has gained so much popularity recently because it can truly be just about anything done with some intention!
Wondering where to get started so you can discover your truth, create more peace, and experience the magic of this life? Here are some of my favorite spiritual rituals that take less than 60 seconds a day for you to try! How do you know which practices is right for you? As I always tell my clients, "take what you love, leave what you don't, but try everything at least once." Scroll through this blog, see what piquets your interest, and try it out! If you find more joy and centeredness after, continue doing it for as long as it feels good!

The 5 Simple Spiritual Rituals
This video is the perfect place to start your spiritual journey! It is what I wish someone could have sent me when I was going down the rabbit hole of self care & spirituality 8 years ago. All these practices are super beginner friendly and take less than 60 seconds if you feel too busy for a morning routine full of meditating or journaling. How? I incorporated them into tasks you already do every day like drinking water, doing your skincare routine, or even falling asleep at night so they don't take any additional time!
The 5 Simple Spiritual Rituals:
1. Infusing Your Morning Water with Your Intentions 💦 all you have to do is hold your glass of water and pick 3 words you want to focus on such as love, abundance, creativity, ease, joy, etc. Say the 3 words and visualize what that might look like in your day for a moment before taking a sip to embody that energy. Sound a little woo-woo? Here's the science behind how our words can affect water and since your body is 70% water this can be a powerful, yet still simple practice to start!
2. While you wait for your morning coffee, tea, or matcha to brew take a second to say some gratitude. ☕️ This is called habit stacking and the act of brewing coffee will help you remember to practice some gratitude. It could be as simple as "I am grateful for another day" or "I am so thankful for this home"
Want to take it up a notch? Try this 30 second sun salutation and yoga prayer I do every morning and grab a copy of this script you can customize with your own gratitude in my NEW digital journal where all YOU have to do is Fill-In-The-Blank!
I created this journal for anyone who wants to add a bit of mindfulness into their day, but doesn't have the time or know where to start when it comes to writing. I kept it simple, quick, and FUN so you can experience the magic of journaling without the burden of figuring it all out on your own!

3. Say affirmations in the mirror🪞 while you do your skincare or makeup routine! Psychology suggests that we trust people more when we look them in the eyes (source) so by seeing your own in the mirror and saying kind, empowering things to yourself can help you believe the affirmations ever faster.
Not sure what to say? Let's keep it simple! You could say "I deeply and completely love myself" or "Today I am _________" (pick an adjective or trait you want to work on). Want even more? Join my FREE Broadcast Channel on Instagram for daily affirmations, journal prompts, tarot card pulls, and more!
4. Take a "light bath" 🛀🏻 When you shower, imagine a white cleansing light washing over your body as well to remove any negative energy, thoughts, or experiences from the day. This can be done anytime of day and especially useful for after a stressful situation to recenter yourself, after being around a lot of people or chaos, or any time you want a bit of peace and energy refresh.
5. Do this breath work at bed time 💤 not only will it help you tune in and connect with your body, but also fall asleep faster. All you have to do is take two inhales through the nose followed by a long exhale out the mouth repeated 3 times! Need a demonstration? Watch the YouTube Video above for how to perform this simple ritual + more details for each of these fast, yet effective practices.

Want to be more spiritual & intentional in your business?
I got you! Even before I was a life coach for spiritual & creative entrepreneurs, I was sprinkling my rituals into my work...well, mostly manifestation rituals for new clients. But these days I use my spiritual connection for EVERYTHING - asking for intuition for ideas & advice, dealing with the daily stresses, energetically cleansing my phone, and so much more! Watch all 5 practices in this video below!
I share more behind the scenes of my soul led business over on my Instagram @magically_tarasimone and also offer customized rituals, advice, & practices to my 1:1 clients. You can learn more about working together to grow your income, impact, and influence while living an intentional life by clicking the pink button below!
What about your connection to nature?
As I said before, the most spiritual experiences I have had is simply sitting under my cedar tree named Selah in silence and seeing what pops in my head. She always bestows the most beautiful words of wisdom and little life lessons during our time together. Thinking I am a little crazy for talking to trees? Try it yourself and see how peaceful it is.
OR add a few rituals to your garden like the intention infused water or protection spells to keep the bunnies & chipmunks away from your plants! I share some more ideas in this video below to deepen your connection with the Mother Nature:
Okay...let's get woo-woo!
If you search "spirituality" on TikTok you are bound to get some witchcraft spells & tarot card reading videos. Do you need to go buy little jars with herbs, crystals, or a tarot deck to be spiritual? NOPE! Again, spirituality is just you connecting with YOU! All you really need is a quiet space and some time to breath, meditate, journal, or just be.
BUT I do love a good crystal or spell to anchor my intention into and remind myself of my divine nature just by seeing it on my desk. Same with my tarot deck. It is a physical reminder I can tap into my inner knowingness and soul at any time with just the flip of a card. These tools can enhance your practice since they amplify our own energy, but without our intentions they are just herbs & rocks.
By all means if setting up an altar or a $5 crystal helps set the mood for your inner work & rituals please buy one (this blog will help you decide which is best for you), but they aren't required.
The other thing NOT required?Professional readings or cleansing (unless you feel called to a particular practitioner). You are just as powerful as everyone else! We all have the same Source flowing through us. Just some have more education and experience working with it. You will get there one day too! But if you feel called to work with a mentor, psychic, healer, or reader in the meantime, you NEED to know this.
Sadly, scammers have found a new target market - those new to spirituality. They inform strangers online that they have a "dark energy attached" or "a message from passed over loved one" and offer tarot readings, psychic channeling, or energy cleansing to help. DO NOT answer them or fall for it.
Legitimate readers, healers, & mediums with true gifts and years of crafting their skills will never reach out to you looking for a sale. Trust me, I am one. And also share 5 questions to ask yourself to decipher real from phony spiritual businesses in this blog all about tarot reading!
Also in that blog you will find some more of my opinions on religion vs spirituality, is it demonic, a further dive into all things tarot, and what to expect your first reading if you are interested in booking one with me!
What DO you need to start your spiritual journey?
Just some time and a quiet space to breath, meditate, journal, or just be. Nothing else required! I would recommend starting with 60 seconds a day of deep breathing in silence to see what thoughts, emotions, sensations, and even insights come to you. Or adding one of these 60 seconds rituals mentioned throughout your day to see which resonates with you most!
BUT if you would like to take this work deeper faster and learn from some other spiritual teachers these are some of my favorite books that really opened my mind and increased my faith in something bigger than me. Flip through the options and notice if one pops out at you. THAT is your intuition guiding you to the correct one for you to read at this time. Simply click the picture for the direct link to the book on Amazon, but check your local library and bookstore first!
Sooo..where are you going to start YOUR spiritual journey? As I said at the beginning, this is just about you connecting with you. Finding more peace. Being more intentional. Remembering the truth of who you are. And there are dozens of ways to do that! I hope this blog gave you some ideas of where to start or new ideas for your own practice.
Before I go hop on my next client call and sign off on this blog, I want to challenge you to pick one of these rituals mentioned and try it every day for a week! It can be as simple as saying 3 intentions over your morning water or writing in a new journal every day. The most important thing though is consistency! That is where the ✨magic✨ lies and where you will experience the shifts you are seeking. Stick to one practice for a week before adding another and let me know down in the comments which one you are doing for a bit of extra accountability!
Chat with you down there!
